Annecy 2008 Annecy is a long-time favourite with paragliders and for good reason. The scenery is not only second-to-none, but the X-C opportunities are almost limitless with X-C routes for all abilities in all directions. This really is a venue where pilots of every level will find challenge, reward or simple pleasure of time spent away from the ground. Adventure, sunshine, great food, beautiful mountain air, and pure cross country spirit!

Guiding comes in many forms, from the simple (“There’s the take-off. Hope to see you later!”), through to the superior air-to-air radio assisted guiding. Whilst we believe there is room for most types of guiding, Passion opt to give you the highest quality service. Because most of my flying has been in and around the Annecy area, I know the flying sites and understand the flying conditions intricately. Guiding will include full site briefings and task-focussed flight plans to suit every ability level. We will be in the air with you to give you tips and pointers and help you maximise your flying experience and keep you up in the air for as long as possible and of course a full retrieval service however far you go! |

Although most pilots joining this trip will already have some X-C experience, others will come hoping to have X-C flying demystified. Paragliding is a truly extraordinary experience. We believe that learning to paraglide should be an evolutionary experience based on a sound understanding of how our subject medium, (namely air) flows and moves in a Mountain environment. How our wings behave when subjected to different air movements will better help us control our wings and get the most from our X-C flying. We learn best by
practise. Our number one aim will be to give you the opportunity to fly as
much and as safely as possible. Second to safety is fun, and in a fun
environment most pilots will learn almost automatically. Because we
know you want to be as safe as you can be and have as much fun as possible
we are proposing to spend approximately one hour each day (usually in the
morning) exploring topics related to X-C and Mountain flying. Although not a
formal course as such, each day will be designed around a key topic with the
express aim of keeping you safer, and having even more fun in the air. |

Whilst we encourage each and every pilot to progress at their own pace and fly only in conditions that they understand and are comfortable with, we are confident that most pilots will learn a great deal from this week. Whether your aim is to achieve a 100km mountain flight, rack up some airtime or simply and slowly gain confidence in a world class flying arena; we’ll be here to help. Most importantly, we believe you’ll have a lot of fun and go home wanting to come back for more. |

Should we suffer un-flyable weather we will help organise alternative activities. The proximity of the lake, the old town of Annecy, Chamonix, beautiful walking routes, cycle routes and paragliding shops give us plenty of scope. Should we be unlucky enough to suffer a particularly bad spell, we have the flexibility to trek south to the Southern Alps if need be. We believe we are unique with this offer and therefore confident that we can offer you more flying than anyone else! |

May through August are the months to go X-C flying in Annecy,
with the local league pilots clocking up the biggest distances of the year,
and some of the biggest X-C distances in Europe.
In keeping with our philosophy of
"the best destinations at the best time of

Annecy is the perfect arena in which to try out a new wing. Here we'll have access to most major brands. Just let us know in advance and we’ll book a wing for you to try. The perfect weekend away. 2 days off work 4 days flying. Fly out on Thursday evening and home again on Monday evening. Fly Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday!!!
