FAQs
What is an “autonomous pilot”?
An autonomous pilot is a qualified pilot (BHPA Club Pilot or equivalent) who accepts full responsibility for their own flying decisions included but not limited to their decision to launch and their decision of when and where to land. They are also able to launch and land unassisted.
An autonomous pilot takes sole responsibility for their flight plan taking into full consideration the terrain and local flying conditions. They should also be able to adapt their flight plan according to conditions if and when these evolve as expected or otherwise.
We aim to give the highest quality guiding service and we’re always happy to share our flying knowledge and experience. Some of our trips require pilots to have more experience and skill than others. If you are unsure as to your suitability for a particular trip please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
